It is estimated that more than 3 billion tonnes of minerals and metals will be required for the implementation of wind, solar and geothermal energy, as well as energy storage, to achieve a temperature reduction below 2ºC in the future .eleven More recent reports are even more chilling regarding the increased use of “transition minerals.” As French journalist Guillaume Pitron maintains, "hundreds of thousands of wind turbines, some taller than the Eiffel Tower, will be built in the coming years and will require enormous quantities of cobalt, zinc, molybdenum, aluminum, zinc, chromium... among other metals12.

The "Decarbonization Consensus" restricts the horizon Phone Number List combat against climate change to what Brazilian researcher Camila Moreno defines as the "carbon metric": a limited way of quantifying carbon only from co 2 molecules , which offers a kind of currency for international exchange, which generates the illusion that something is being done against environmental degradation13. In this way, the underlying problem is covered up and not only does pollution continue, but new businesses are also made with pollution (through, for example, emissions offset trading.

The natural and ecological limits of the planet continue to be ignored, as there is clearly no lithium or critical minerals that can be reached if mobility models and consumption patterns are not changed. The fact in itself that lithium batteries, as well as wind and solar projects, also require minerals (such as copper, zinc, among many others) should alert us to the need to carry out a radical reform of the transportation system and of the existing consumption model. Therefore, the transition cannot be reduced solely to a change in the energy matrix that guarantees the continuity of an unsustainable model.

They can more easily access funds and establish relationships with investors there is more competence and culture in doing business than in Italy. In Italy we often get lost between definitions and theory or we discuss which is the main hub for startups and honestly when I talk about it here in London I get incredulous looks or giggles.

The Italian ecosystem is obviously growing. I hope that there can be more and more collaboration between those involved in startups beyond ego and hype. Let Phone Number List move on to the book instead. How did the idea of the Startup Marketing edition come about Startup Marketing was born thanks to a meeting with the guys from Hoepli who asked me to write a book dedicated to marketing strategies for startups.

The idea of recounting all my experience in a book thrilled me a lot also because last summer I had been invited as a speaker to some conferences and my idea was precisely to share what I had learned in five years in London with a view to giving back.

God first" - are ways of presenting her and her husband as unavoidable mediators between the powers of the afterlife and the Nicaraguans. Although this rhetoric often borders on ridicule, it nevertheless reflects the intention of this couple to establish themselves at the same time as leaders who are above the people, but also as the embodiment of the essence of the Nicaraguan people and family. The difficulty of thinking totalitarianism It remains to understand why it is so difficult to think of the tyranny exercised today by the Ortega-Murillo couple through the prism of totalitarianism, and even more so, to show how these totalitarian forms partly fed into the ten years of the Sandinista Revolution.

The context in which this revolution emerged, as well as Phone Number List enthusiasm it aroused, certainly contributed to a form of blindness in this regard, undoubtedly in the ranks of the left, but also in those of the right. In 1979, the first came from feeling very disappointed by the discovery of the atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia and the mass flight of the boat people.Vietnamese. Furthermore, since the Padilla case in 1971, the star of the Cuban Revolution had undoubtedly been dimmed.

The Sandinista Revolution came to satisfy a desire, and perhaps even more so, a need to believe in a possible revolution that defended both equality and socialist freedom. The impulse for solidarity and the calls to action that accompanied it provided good alibis for not wondering about questions raised by the totalitarian regimes that emerged in Southeast Asia. Why and how totalitarian bureaucracies could emerge during the war against US imperialism and its " puppet regimes " in Southeast Asia were silenced questions.

General Discussion / Angela - Act 4 Post

It seems that the ending of the play is when all the pranks and misunderstandings hit their peak. In particular, Sebastian and Viola get mixed up by both Antonio and Olivia's servants. I don't understand how they can look so identical that multiple people mix them up. They may look similar, but they must have some differences, or tells, especially since Viola has a face of a girl and Sebastian has a face of a guy.

When Olivia mistook Sebastian for Cesario, Sebastian had no idea what was going on but willingly went with Olivia, saying, ,"Or I am mad, or else this is a dream...if it be thus to dream, still let me sleep!" (4.1.56-8). Sebastian doesn't even know Olivia, but goes with her because or her looks. Isn't he a little concerned about the situation, or is does he fall that easily for good looks? Furthermore, at the end of the act he chooses to swear his love to Olivia by marrying her? Sebastian is kind of like Romeo in this sense--marrying too suddenly before you even know the girl.
It shows that the play is coming to a close as well; there is an ending with marriage, and Shakespeare is starting to rhyme his lines more.

I'll follow this good man, and go with you;
And having sworn truth, ever will be true (Shakespeare 4.3.33-4).

General Discussion / Angela - Act 3 Post
« Last post by aweber18 on February 27, 2016, 08:04:25 pm »
I feel like Olivia is being particularly hypocritical in this act. When she professed her love for Viola, aka Cesario, she suggests Cesario "perhaps mayst move that heart, which now abhors, to like [Orsino's] love" (3.1.153-4). She is asking Cesario to give her a chance and saying he could fall for her overtime, but she's the one who is refusing point blank to even give Orsino the slightest chance.

It seems like servants in Olivia's house are becoming more violent and traitorous and the play goes along. First, Sir Toby is tricking Sir Andrew into provoking Cesario to fight. Not only is this a little too cruel for a silly prank in my opinion, but it seems the characters like to paint graphic pictures to get their point across. For example, Sir Toby comments that "for Andrew, if he were opened and you find so much blood in his liver as will clog the foot of a flea, [he'll] eat the rest of his anatomy" (3.2.54-7). A little gruesome...

Furthermore, Malvolio is completely being fooled by Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, and Maria, who shows a strong resemblance to Margaret. Although he isn't the most likable character for me, Maria is playing an extremely mean joke. Sir Toby even wants to "have him in a dark room and bound...in the belief that he's mad" (3.4.122-3).

Even though this act seemed to focus on the servants and the intrigue taking place, Shakespeare also included a scene with Sebastian and Antonio. Antonio goes so far to as to express his love for Sebastian, saying that "[his] willing love, the rather by these arguments of fear, set forth in [Sebastian's] pursuit" (3.3.11-13). I'm not entirely sure what their relationship is. Antonio basically said that he didn't help Sebastian because he was a servant, but rather because he loved Sebastian. Later, he even gives himself up to Orsino's mean for Viola, thinking she was Sebastian. So what are his intentions, and does Sebastian feel the same way? What is Shakespeare trying to say?

General Discussion / Angela - Act 2 Post
« Last post by aweber18 on February 15, 2016, 03:05:12 pm »
I am seriously wondering about the relevance of Sir Andrew, Sir Toby Belch, and Maria. I get the impression that they were somehow connected to Olivia and are on her estate, but unlike her, they seem focused on drinking, partying, and flirting. Is this just for comedic effect? It seems between their fun and games there are important life themes incorporated into their dialogue. For example, Sir Toby Belch asks Malvolio "dost [he] think, because [he] art virtuous, there shall be no more cakes and ale?" (2.3.105-6). This makes me think that they are there to lighten the mood of the play in contrast to all the grieving going on around them. It shows that life requires pleasure and fun as well as serious thought. In this way, they are important to the tone of the story.

There's also a little bit of verbal irony in the act, when Orsino asks Cesario (Viola) if "[his] eye hath stay'd upon some favor that it loves" (2.4.21-2), to which Viola replies, "A little bit" (2.4.24). Orsino doesn't know she is talking about him, despite the obvious hints Viola keeps dropping. I feel like this act changed my perspective on the play--instead of portraying men as these strong, fierce, characters, it shows that they are more compassionate beings. For example, Viola tells Duke that "too well what love women to men may owe...in faith, they are as true of heart as we" (2.4.103-4). As Viola is incognito as Cesario, the "we" she talked about can be inferred to be men. It shows a more flawed, dependent side of man not often seen in some of Shakespeare's other plays. She's the Man, based off Twelfth Night, also emphasizes a more emotional side men have contrary to stereotypical gender roles.

She's the Man took a lot of inspiration from act 2. In particular at the end, Duke quotes the team's soccer coach saying, "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them" (2.5.130-2). This is taken verbatim from the play, which makes me think it holds significance. In Shakespeare's play, the "greatness" referred to the distinction between servants and mistress. In She's the Man, it closed the gap between male and female abilities. Both cases use different situations to express the same theme: Greatness should not be influenced by race, gender, or class; people should be treated according to one's individual ability.
